# 16 September 2023 -- prospective patch notes

## Designer's Notes

Patch goals include:
- Smoothing out costs and stats in the wake of the Protoss and Zerg revisions
- Adjusting advanced workers to be more relevant in the overall game state
- Pulling the trigger on the "shroud piercer" Kinetic Penetration revision
- Revising the last of the multi-purpose late-game air units (e.g. Hippogriff) to be more fair in large quantities
- Making additional progress on the custom advisor implementation

## Summary
- Advanced workers are now available in tier 2, and move ~16.5% faster than before
- Protoss production structures have had their time costs increased
- The Pythean and Clarion have found new homes (Nanite Assembly and Synthetic Synod respectively), while the Parthenon and Strident Stratum were removed

## Game modes
- Added a 'Debug' game mode that maxes out starting resources and significantly speeds up build times.

## Gameplay
- Adjusted idle and unburrow animations to be more consistent; reduces max unburrow time by 2 frames
- Internally cleaned up bounce attack code

## Bugfixes
- Stability:
	- Fixed a crash related to Demiurges (r. benno & The Shambler, c. DF)
	- Fixed an extremely rare crash when at the unit path limit (r. The Shambler)
	- Potentially fixed rare animation desyncs related to certain Zerg idle animations
- Gameplay:
	- Sycophants no longer "donate" shields for free (r. Mystery Meat)
	- Ascending corpses now enchants allies instead of enemies
	- Cagra spread by Omnivales now correctly recedes when the Omnivale dies (r. Btyb88)
	- Psionic Storm:
		- Now properly ignores armor
		- No longer erroneously give energy to nearby Cantavises on kill
	- Recalling a saved selection no longer culls unavailable units (e.g. stunned, in transport) (c. DF)
	- Fixed default hotkey collisions for: (r. neblime)
		- Larvosk Cesiant: Control Strains and Ocsal aspect
		- Argosy: Epigraph and Empyrean
- AI:
	- Zerg:
		- Now properly request Alkajelisks
		- No longer overbuild Ovileths in the early game
		- No longer request Zobriolisks, as the unit is unfinished (r. faktheking)
- Audiovisual:
	- Rally lines no longer show when the structure's rally target is not visible
	- Terran and Zerg tech-up advisor transmissions are no longer swapped
	- Units protected by Ancile Providence now correctly send an 'under attack' notices
	- Axitrilisk birth anim now uses Hydralisk as a placeholder, instead of Talos
	- Ocsal Cesiant now has a wireframe
	- Kills string has been reinstated
	- Durendal shadow offset has been corrected
	- Skortrith Cesiant now has its own shadow
	- Lazarus Agent cancel string has been corrected (r. lolrsk8s)
	- "Unit's waypoint list is full" can no longer display in replays (c. DF)

## Audiovisuals
- Updated sprite for:
	- Ocsal Cesiant (placeholder)
- Updated weaponfire SFX for:
	- Patriarch, Demiurge, Tosgrilisk, Protathalor, Skortrith Cesiant, Spirtith Cesiant
	- Magister, Epigraph, Gorgrokor (secondary), Zarcavrokor (passive) (c. lolrsk8s)
- Updated weaponhit SFX for:
	- Cataphract, Claymore, Skortrith Cesiant, Spirtith Cesiant
- Updated death SFX for:
	- Bactalisk, and all regressing Zerg units!
